The puppies are now a little over 4 weeks old. They are getting more and more playful everyday. Ana LOVES to help me feed and play with them. I can't believe it is almost August!! Where has the summer gone? I usually hate summer, but this year it is going way too fast. I have a bunch of stuff to get done before fall training starts. We start on August 20th each year if it is cool enough. Larry and I are still loving our nightly 5 mile bike rides. So far, he has lost 8 pounds and I've lost 9!! We want to get down to our "racing weights" so we are lighter for the dogs and we will have much more energy to run up all those hills in the races. Usually I am wiped out by the end of the race, I hope to be in much better shape this season.

"Puppy Time"

We call our time with the pups "puppy time". They are getting bigger at 3 weeks old and getting around pretty good. This is me with two of the males. The one facing the camera is "Liddell".
"Franklin" is the brown and white male and "Dana" is the white female.

Larry is holding "BJ", she is the most outgoing and adventurous of the pups. The whole litter are not shy at all and are all very friendly, but BJ is the standout so far.

This is Larry fixing Star's platform. We put Star on a platform shortly after we got her a few years ago since she digs HUGE 3 foot holes big enough for her whole body to fit inside. They are more like dens. Well, she was STILL digging HUGE holes all along the sides of the platform where she can reach. She also has developed a taste for rocks and was almost completely blocked 3 different times this summer. Thankfully, she passed them on her own without having surgery, it is expensive to get them removed!! So, we decided to end all of her digging and prevent her rock eating from happening by adding more plywood to the sides. Star just watched Larry in disgust, knowing her favorite pastimes were coming to an end. It has been GREAT for me!! No more burying HUGE holes!!

The pups are now 17 days old and they all have their eyes open. They are starting to get around pretty good. Makenzie came over last week to stay the night and play with the pups. She LOVED holding them all night while we watched

The weather here has been PERFECT, in the 60's & 70's. Supposed to get hot by the end of this week though- yuck!! It is Alpenfest this week also, so we will be going up there a couple of times to look at all the crafts and take Ana on some rides.

Ana & Puppies

The puppies are all doing very well. They are 9 days old now and will open their eyes in the next couple of days. Ana LOVES the puppies and says she IS a puppy ever since Zoey had them. She asks for a "doggie bone" for breakfast or "puppy toast" and wants "doggie food" for dinner. We are pretty sure we decided on the names for them. They are named after UFC fighters. The females are: BJ (BJ Penn), Dana (Dana White President of UFC), Lea (Rachel Lea, the ring girl), Serra (Matt Serra, welterweight champ), Silva (Anderson Silva middle weight champ).

The males are: Liddell (Chuck Liddel former light heavy weight champ), George (George St. Pierre former welterweight champ) and Franklin (Rich Franklin former middle weight champ). It is hard to tell most of the pups apart because of all the spots, so we are not sure which ones get which names yet.
